Working with Duo: A Farewell Post from Annie

One of our account managers, Annie, said farewell last week to head to a new opportunity in Colorado. We’ll miss her talents, hard work, and of course – her sass. 😉 Before she left, we asked her to share some thoughts on her experience working at Duo. When she started with us, we were excited to put her shiny new PR degree to use. We quickly found that her PR skills helped us develop many of our healthcare marketing strategies. Without further ado, here are Annie’s thoughts on her first post-graduation job.

As I graduated from college, I had what felt like 100 inspirational quotes posted around me on my mirrors, doors, computer, etc.

“A job isn’t a just a job. It’s who you are.” – Unknown
“If you love your work, if you enjoy it, you’re already a success.” – Jack Canfield
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius
“It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together.” – Anonymous
“If you want to be successful in this world, you have to follow your passion, not a paycheck.” – Jen Welter
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs.

Needless to say, as I was searching for my first post-graduation job, I knew that whatever was next needed to be nothing short of amazing. And it was exactly that.

Working at Duo Marketing Group (more commonly referred to as “Duo”) was an unforgettable experience for me. I emphasize the unforgettable part of that sentence. I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to say that every day I found a new reason that Duo fulfilled every single one of those quotes for me. I want to share just some of those reasons.

Reason #1: My time at Duo taught me the importance of client relationships. One of the first things I noticed about Duo was their effort to provide quality work for every client. I think it’s fair to say that a marketing company is only as successful as their clients.

Reason #2: Working with Duo taught me to be ready to adapt to changes. Social media marketing is always changing! For the sake of our clients, I learned just how important it was that we stay on top of those changes to continue to provide quality marketing content and tactics. These changes made work fun! Every day, Duo is ready to jump into whatever change Facebook, or any social media, has in store for us!

Reason #3: Have you ever seen a brand post something on social media where the text just doesn’t fit the voice of the brand? I’m happy to have learned the importance of quality writing to represent a brand. Quality content is Duo Marketing Group’s strong point.

Reason #4: A company that eats entire packages of Oreos together will always stay together!

As my time comes to an end here at Duo, I reflect on more than just the amazing clients I’ve worked with or the coworkers that became friends. I reflect on all that Duo has to offer and all that they have offered me.
