Creating Content that Matters

by | Feb 19, 2020 | Blog

Content marketing is a great way to get people talking about your products, your services, and your company. Creating content that is meaningful is also a perfect way to engage your potential customers and potentially create a community within your target market. If done correctly, content opens up the conversation between the consumer and the business, creating lifetime loyalty.

Creating great content, or even knowing where to start can be a little overwhelming. Overall, great content is simply this: whatever your target market wants to see and interact with. Many factors go into creating the content that all of your followers want to see. Here are a few tips to create content that matters:

Tip #1: Know Your Brand

Your brand voice is arguably one of the most important aspects of your brand. After all, it communicates your value and makes you recognizable to your audience. Are you edgy and moody? Are you classy and sophisticated? Fun and witty? Your voice is all about how you communicate your brand message and how it makes your audience feel. When your brand’s voice is in tune with your audience, viewers are more likely to feel comfortable with your company and relationships can begin to form.

Your content should ALWAYS fit your brand and should be consistent.

Tip #2: Know Your Audience

You should know who is currently in your audience and who your target audience is. When you understand who you are trying to reach (their behaviors and interests), you can write posts that directly apply to them. If you’re creating content as a healthcare provider for your patients, you would want to create content that is easily understood and something that builds your practice as the source of authority in whatever your specialty is. This audience is most likely looking for a qualified doctor/practice that they can form a relationship with.

Tip #3: Provide Valuable Information.

Effective content is not produced in a vacuum from a list of topics you personally want to write or talk about. It’s made out in the open with the involvement, feedback, and direction of your audience. The best content marketing strategy is designed to answer the most pressing questions your target audience has – to educate and transform them.

Content is all about building and engaging with your audience. When you position yourself as an expert through your content, it establishes your brand as a trustworthy source with your audience. Over time, you build a library of content that improves your SEO. The only way that your content will connect enough with people to have them share it and help you reach your goals is for you to speak directly with them. You need to have a deep understanding of your online community to be able to create content that matters and builds a long-lasting loyalty.
