Hi, my name is Mariah Carlson and I am the newest member of the Duo Team! My job here is to create content, manage social media accounts, and help with running ads.
I grew up in Layton, Utah and now live in a small town called Huntsville. I graduated two years ago from Weber State University with a major in Spanish translations and a minor in professional sales. My first big job after college was working with Pinterest’s internal marketing team. I was a Partner manager/Account manager and my job was to create, optimize and manage high budget ads for a large variety of businesses wanting to advertise on our platform. I learned so much while working there and really fell in love with marketing. One thing that I loved was helping businesses be seen and heard. However, I began to notice that many of our clients that didn’t have success with ads also didn’t have a strong online presence. That is where I saw a need and decided to act.
I quit Pinterest after working there for a year, and started helping other businesses build their online presence. I mixed my new marketing skills with my passion and love of photography and videography and began working immediately with several businesses. I would do photo/video shoots and help them create a strong brand. I also would build their social media pages to accurately represent them. I helped grow social media pages for chiropractors, dentists, online teachers, Jewelers, public speakers, and mental health coaches. I loved running my own business, but one thing led to another and I found out about Duo Marketing Group. I fell in love with the culture, the people, and how fast this company was growing and I had to be a part of it! So far, this has been the coolest job and I love the clients we get to work with! I am so excited to team up with this phenomenal company.
A little bit about me is that I love to travel and experience authentic cultures! I have traveled alone to over 30 countries, and have helped with several service trips in Paraguay, Argentina, Tonga, Mexico, Guatemala, and Fiji. I believe that every person and every culture has incredibly beautiful things to offer, and finding those things brings so much meaning to my life.
I love creating art through drawing, digital design, photography, and videography.
I am also big into skiing, wake surfing, skateboarding, flowboarding, and riding dirt bikes.
I am so excited to be working with Duo and I can’t wait to build strong connections with new and existing clients.
